With approximately 2,5 million inhabitants, Belo Horizonte is the capital of Minas Gerais State, the 6th largest city in the country is also known as the first modern planned city in Brazil.

Furthermore, Minas Gerais had a GDP of 206,5 million USD in 2012. The state has a well developed industrial sector and BH was famous for being traditionally a HUB of siderurgical and metallurgical companies. Moreover, it hosts a large number of multinationals and Brazilian companies. Currently, the service sector plays a critical role, being responsible for almost 85% of the city’s GDP.
